Turmeric: The yellow-colored spice does more than add flavor

The Turmeric plant is known for having a long root with an intense yellow color that is grinded into powder and is used as a condiment in several countries, as a food coloring, especially in India, and as a supplement to benefit from its amazing properties.

In addition to being used very often in the kitchen, turmeric is known to be used for medicinal purposes.

How to use turmeric

You can take turmeric as a powdered supplement or use it as a spice.

Golden milk.

Soups.

Scrambled eggs.

Muffins.

Rice.

Roasted veggies.

Smoothies.

Since smoothie is the last on the list, we want to share with you a delicious smoothie recipe:

A turmeric smoothie is a perfect way to kickstart your day. Tropical fruits are blended with spectacular ingredients to create a deliciously healthy drink. It’s creamy, naturally sweet, and will have you feeling good from the inside out. Tempted? We bet you are…

LET’S TALK INGREDIENTS

Pineapple: Frozen pineapple chunks are best for a thicker consistency.

Banana: Use a fresh banana. No need for a frozen banana as the pineapple chunks will chill the smoothie.

OMG Turmeric Powder: 1 tablespoon.

Ginger: 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger

Milk: Any milk works in this smoothie, but since we’re going for anti-inflammatory effects here, we recommend a non-dairy milk. Choose from options such as almond milk, cashew milk, or oat milk.

INSTRUCTIONS

Add all of the ingredients to a blender and blend for 30 seconds on high, or until creamy.

OMG Superfoods tip

Frozen fruit gives the smoothie a thick texture and makes it really cool and refreshing.

A turmeric smoothie is a perfect way to kickstart your day with immune-boosting ingredients. You'll love this combination!
