First things first, stress is a feeling of physical or emotional tension and it can come from any situation, event, or thought, causing you to feel frustrated, angry, afraid, irritable, sad, or nervous.
Being able to recognize these common stress symptoms can help you manage them.
Overall life can be stressful and there's no way around it. We need to go through it, process it, and do our very best to continue with our lives, feeling the stress and finding healthy and manageable ways to approach this anxiety.
Since we're in the National Stress Awareness Month, we've put together a few ideas and De-Stress products to help you combat stress and, focus on the things that truly matter, leading towards a healthier, less stressful lifestyle.
01. Take care of your body
Eat healthy and nutritious meals, continue to exercise regularly, get plenty of sleep, take deep breaths, stretch, or meditate.
02. Limit screen time
The more you're online or staring at screens, the more you may increase your anxiety. Give your eyes and your mind a break by opening a window and breathing fresh air or going for a walk.
03. Manage your stress by helping others
You're not alone. Helping others cope with their stress can help you feel better, too.
04. Do something you enjoy
Ever wanted to take a cooking class? Learn how to take photos? Paint? Learning new skills and taking the time to do something you love creates an outlet to relieve stress.
05. Learn how to relaxRelaxing while stressed is no easy task. It's important to find what works best for you and what fits into your lifestyle. Meditation and deep breathing are great ways to feel more relaxed and are also easy to do anywhere.
If you're looking for a good way to get started, try the 4-7-8 deep breathing technique: Inhale for four seconds, hold your breath for seven seconds, exhale for eight seconds.
There are many ways to lower your stress levels, try out steps like these and take it day by day!
